Traceability, stock management and control of expiration date

The Scanvaegt traceability solution ensures full traceability of all products—from goods reception through processing and dispatch, all the way to the end customer. The system also includes features for inventory management and monitoring of product expiration dates.
The traceability system makes it easy to trace any product back through the supply chain—identifying where the raw materials came from, which products they were used in, and which customers received the finished goods.
At goods reception:
Using a handheld scanner, incoming goods are registered as received from the specific supplier, along with details such as item number, batch number, quantity, net weight, and expiration date. Additionally, the goods can undergo quality checks based on criteria such as transport damage, compliance with specifications, analysis certificates, and deviation reports.
In production:
For goods that are mixed with other ingredients, a new batch/item number is created. Each item is scanned using a handheld terminal, registering the item number, batch number, net weight, and, if applicable, quantity under the new overarching batch and item number. Once the mix is complete, it is recorded in inventory via scanning.
At order dispatch:
When fulfilling orders, the customer is selected from a list and the order number is entered. The item number, batch number, net weight, and quantity are scanned and linked to the customer. The system checks current stock and alerts the operator if items with a shorter shelf life are available, prompting their use in the order to reduce waste.
For order verification:
During order packing, the relevant order is retrieved via the labeling equipment terminal. Product master data is fetched online, and the system verifies if the item is in stock.
Inventory movement management:
All goods are scanned in and out of inventory using a handheld terminal, which transfers the data to the central system. This provides full visibility into stock levels and product shelf life, helping to streamline order planning and inventory control.
At every stage of the process, a registration draft is generated that includes all records. This draft is reviewed and approved by the quality manager.
