The Scanvaegt traceability solution ensures complete traceability of all products - from goods receipt through to dispatch and onward to the customer. The system also incorporates features for inventory management and monitoring of product expiration dates.
The traceability system makes it easy to trace back any item to determine the origin of raw materials, the products those raw materials are part of, and the customers to whom finished goods have been sold.
Upon goods receipt:
Using a handheld scanner, each item is registered as received from the respective supplier, along with details such as item number, batch number, quantity, net weight, and expiration date. The item can also undergo quality checks based on criteria such as transport damage, compliance requirements, analysis certificates, and deviation reports.
In production:
For items incorporated into a mix with other products, a new batch number and item number are created. Each item is scanned using a handheld terminal, recording item number, batch number, net weight, and, if applicable, quantity under the new, overarching batch and item number. Once the new mix is complete, it is registered into inventory via scanning with the handheld terminal.
At dispatch:
When processing orders, the customer is selected from a list and the order number is entered. Item numbers, batch numbers, net weight, and quantities are scanned and linked to the customer. The system verifies inventory and alerts the operator if items with shorter shelf life are available, recommending their use for the order to minimize waste.
Order verification:
During order packing, the current order is called up on the labeling equipment terminal. At the same time, product master data is retrieved online, and the system checks whether the item is available in stock.
Inventory movement management:
All goods are scanned in and out of inventory using a handheld terminal, which transmits data to the central system. This provides clear visibility of inventory status and product shelf life, facilitating efficient order management.
Process documentation:
At every step in the process, a registration log is created, containing all records. This log is subject to approval by the Quality Manager
