Scanvaegt Pallet Receiving System
Automatic registration, inspection, and identification.

Scanvaegt’s Pallet Receiving System is a complete system for automatic registration, identification, inspection, and inventory management of pallets in freezer warehouses and storage facilities. The solution can also incorporate order allocation, check weighing, and dispatch processes.
The system consists of a station equipped for scanning, weighing, and labeling. This station is typically positioned at goods receipt but can also be used in other locations.
Upon arrival and prior to freezing, each pallet is automatically scanned, identified, and weighed. The system scans the barcode on the supplier’s label and identifies the supplier. If multiple barcodes with different data are present, the system ensures all are scanned. Barcodes can be formatted as compact 2-dimensional or standard 1-dimensional types.
The system then prints a new internal ID label, which is automatically applied to the pallet. This internal barcode is formatted for recognition by all other equipment within the company.
The pallet proceeds to the weighing section where it is automatically weighed. The weight result is displayed on the operator terminal. Subsequently, data including supplier information and weight is transmitted via Ethernet to the host system. The host system verifies whether the pallet meets expected weight, has been correctly identified, etc., and returns an 'OK' or 'NOT OK' status to the pallet station.
If the pallet is approved ('OK'), it is automatically forwarded to storage or freezing.
If the pallet is 'NOT OK' due to insufficient scanning, it remains on the scale for manual scanning or entry of the serial number.
If the pallet is 'NOT OK' due to an error — for example, incorrect weight — it is diverted to a separate lane for manual processing using manually operated terminal equipment.
Throughout the entire process, the operator can see the current status of the operation on the touch screen:
- New pallet, scanning in progress
- Potentially 'No barcode read, please scan or enter manually'
- 'Data transferred, awaiting host system'
- 'Pallet error: Unknown number or weight error' (displayed only after manual scan or entry)
- 'Pallet OK' or alternatively 'Pallet rejected'
