The Scanvaegt Pallet Receipt System is a complete solution for automatic registration, identification, control and warehouse management of pallets in coldstores and warehouses. The solution may also incorporate order-allocation, checkweighing and despatch.
The solution comprises a station with equipment for scanning, weighing and labelling. The station is placed at the entry dock, but may also be taken into use elsewhere.
Upon arrival - and before taken into coldstore - the pallet is scannes, identified and weighed – everything is carried-out automatically. The system scans the barcode on the supplier label and identifies the supplier. In case of more barcodes with differing content the system scans all of them. The barcodes can be compact 2-dimensional or standard 1-dimensional types.
The system now prints a new internal ID-label, which is applied onto the pallet automatically. This internal barcode is formatted in such a way, that it can be identified by other scanning equipment in the company.
The pallet continues onto the weighing section, where it’s weighed automatically. The weight result is displayed in the operator terminal.
Then all data with supplier information and the weight result is transferred via ethernet to the host system. The host system checks, if the pallet complies with the anticipated weight, if it’s identified correctly etc. – if yes, then the host system gives an ”OK” back to the Pallet Receipt System.
If the pallet is OK, then it’s automatically forwarded into warehouse/coldstore.
If the pallet isn’t OK due to insufficient scanning, it will remain on the scale for manual scanning or keying-in the pallet ID-number.
If the pallet isn’t OK due to a fault notification – e.g. not correct weight – it will be rejected out onto a separate line for manual handling with manual equipment.
During the entire process the actual status of the flow will be displayed on the touch-screen:
1. New pallet, scanning in progress
2. If occuring: ”No barcode reading - scan or key-in manually”
3. ”Data transferred, awaiting host system”
4. ”Error on pallet: Unknown number or weight error” (displayed only after manual scanning or keying-in)
5. ”Pallet OK” or alternatively ”Pallet rejected”.
As an option the pallet may - already at registration into warehouse - be allocated to a specific order, which has been downloaded beforehand in the Scanvaegt order system. In this case the individual pallet registration, containing a new internal pallet ID-number and pallet information from the supplier, will be transferred back to the ERP system as a batch-job.
It’s also possible attach further data-loggings, which are to be executed at a given order start-up, e.g. measurement of temperature.
